NOT  REQUIRED : 121digital prefers NOT to use your computer lab & NOT to use of your computers.  Learners bring their own device. As a consequence they learn better and more quickly.

supports schools, universities & IT colleges and other training centres countrywide. See the list of training centres on the 'Courses' page.

121digital can be brought to your school/university/college FREE of charge (no licence fee/no training fee) on condition that you agree to adhere to the guidelines of the Dept of Communications (DCCAE). SCHOOLS :
Schools participate in 121digital because of the benefits for their students (usually, Transition Year students). The program challenges TY volunteers - guiding and supporting them in a safe environment - using professionally prepared teaching/learning content - allowing them to be the teacher and to develop their interpersonal communication skills.

The program builds a bridge to the local community and students learn through 121digital  how to contribute in the community. All participants are members of the local community : Tutors, Learners, Facilitators and the School. The 121digital lessons are run for the school by the Facilitators. Advice is available from 121digital. The workload for school staff is kept to a minimum.

When timetabling the 121digital program into the school calendar 121digital suggests one lesson per week, scheduled for late mornings or early afternoons.
Ideally, the timetable allows a double class period – starting with a 5-minute briefing for the Tutors/volunteers, then an 80-minute lesson for the Learners, followed by a 5-minute wrap-up with the volunteer Tutors. Ideally, 2 or 3 courses of lessons are run in each academic year. This provides lessons for up to 45 adults involving over 50 students per school, per year. Larger numbers can be accommodated in very large schools. Smaller numbers, too, can be accommodated.

COMPANIES / UNIVERSITIES / LIBRARIES :
121digital lessons in these training centres are usually of 2 hours duration, each and a course comprises lessons. There are a myriad of benefits to each volunteer Tutor, Facilitator and to the host organisation as it builds a bridge to the local community and provides a bonding opportunity for students and staff who participate. It is recommended to keep class sizes small (say 12 to 15 Learners) to maintain a personal and welcoming atmosphere.
